One of the best places to see turtles in the area is at the George C. McGough Nature Park in Largo, Florida. Brazilian pepper trees
The city of Largo, FL is home to a beautiful collection of Brazilian pepper trees. Located in Pinellas County, Largo is the fourth-largest city in the Tampa Bay area. According to the 2010 census, the city’s population was 77,648. The population grew from 69,371 in 2000.
You can visit the park to view some of these trees and to learn more about the different species. The park is open Monday through Sunday, and its campus offers educational programs and live animal exhibits. You can also feed the turtles. Dogs are not allowed in the park.
Air potatoes
The air potato vine is spreading throughout the George C McGough Nature Park in Largo, FL, and the City of Largo is taking action to control the growth of the invasive plant. Halloween-themed attraction
This fall, George C McGough Nature Park Largo will transform into a Halloween-themed attraction! On Friday, October 25, the park will host a special Halloween-themed event called Owl-o-Ween. This spooky nighttime event will include a spooky nature trail, marshmallow toasting with ghosts, and raffle tickets.
Despite its name, this Halloween-themed attraction is more than just a pumpkin carving competition. This event is a day full of fun and excitement, and is ideal for children under nine. Guests can enjoy great food and candy while celebrating the season in a safe and fun way.
This free, family-friendly Halloween event includes carnival games, trick-or-treating, and inflatables. The event is organized by the Friends of Largo Nature Parks, a nonprofit organization that hosts various nature-related events throughout the year.
